Photo Essay: Baby Animals – Part 1
We got a baby rabbit this week. I jokingly told my wife that the rabbit was very young she was ”just a puppy”. My wife said “A baby rabbit is not called a puppy, it’s called a bunny!” This sparked my curiosity, and also in an effort to prove her wrong, I looked it up on the internet. To my surprise a baby rabbit is called a Dave or Davey. HAH! I said to her. She just rolled her eyes at me and said “Well you didn’t know either!”
So for the weeks photo essay we are featuring the baby animals of the world. Everybody all at once… Ahhhhhhhh. How cute!
As previously mentioned. A baby rabbit is called a Dave or Davey (this one is not ours). I have also seen where it is called a Kit, Kitten as well as Bunny but I’m sure that has to be incorrect. ;)

A baby Aardvark is called a Cub

This little guy is a Calf

A baby Hedgehog is a Piglet or Pup

A baby seal is also called a Pup.

A baby Gorilla is referred to as an Infant.

This of course is a Pup or Puppy

A little skunk is a Kit

A baby Tiger is a Cub or a Whelp

This is a cute little Cub

Baby Possums (or Opossums) are called Joey’s

Coincidentally, this is also called a Joey. A baby Kangaroo.

And third on our list of “Joey’s” is the Koala Bear

A baby Deer is called a Fawn

Here we have an Infant again

And this handsome fellow is a Calf

A baby Hippo is also called a Calf

We all know this one… a Duckling

Here is a baby Buffalo which also is called a Calf when it is young.

And of course, another Calf, a baby Cow.
